Tunnel Ventilation

The ventilation of underground traffic infrastructure is closely linked to overall safety. We design ventilation systems of road tunnels related to the safety installations. In addition, ventilation design is based on environmental aspects: air pollution control, noise and landscape protection as well as energy efficiency.

Our experience covers tunnel ventilation and tunnel safety projects from early concept stage such as environmental impact studies, feasibility studies and tender design through to site supervision and commissioning of ventilation equipment.

Our services include dynamic modelling of tunnel ventilation and smoke propagation as well as calculation of air dispersion in the vicinity of tunnel portals and ventilation outlets.

Tunnel Safety

In recent years, the ever-increasing construction standard of road tunnels has led to a rapidly increasing workload for operation and maintenance organizations. This development is exacerbated by the ever-shorter life cycles of systems. Unnecessary redundancies are implemented in the name of "safety".

We evaluate the safety standard of existing tunnels or tunnel projects according to local standards as well as according to the international state-of-the-art. As a technical consultant to the owner or operator of the tunnel, we provide guidance on efficient improvements and improved efficiency of the safety installations.
